Chapter Five

Luke spent the remainder of the morning settling his account at the inn, then moving his things to Edwin’s house. All around him, he heard talk of politics and the Reform Act—clearly this was a big issue. He listened as intently as possible, but gleaned no new information. He made his way back to Parliament at noon, looking about as people drifted out onto the steps.

Edwin was a few minutes late. He started down the steps when he caught sight of Luke. “Mr. Martin. So glad you could make it. If you’ll be good enough to follow me,” he said, his voice clear and formal, betraying nothing of his intentions.

“Of course,” Luke replied, falling into step beside Edwin, resisting the urge to gaze at him. Surely Edwin couldn’t be planning a romantic moment right here at Parliament? His body nevertheless anticipated it, and his heart beat faster.

Edwin went back up the stairs and into the building, leading Luke through the labyrinthine corridors. He went through a door to another corridor leading deeper into the building, then another door and another, until they were inside what looked like a small study. It had a desk with two chairs before it, a small fireplace, and two tall, shuttered windows overlooking a courtyard. Edwin locked the door and walked across to close the shutters, then leaned back against the desk. “Hello there.. ” Luke’s body went from on guard to instantly aroused. Edwin was really serious. Luke knew they wouldn’t have much time, so he didn’t waste any of it. He stepped closer, taking Edwin into his arms and pressing him back against the solid bulk of the desk, before kissing him hard and insistently.

Edwin whimpered into Luke’s mouth, his palms flattening to his chest then sliding down. “I think you know what I want,” he whispered when they parted briefly to take a gulp of air.

Apparently, Luke’s lust for Edwin had only increased by their night together. He burned for Edwin as he ground against him, making sure the other man knew just how much he wanted him. “Tell me, Edwin, I want to hear the words,” he said, voice low and rough with desire.

Edwin’s hands slid slowly around Luke’s hips and he pulled him even more tightly to him. “I want you to fuck me,” he purred. “Hard and fast and wickedly improper, over this desk behind me, so that every time I sit down for the rest of the day I’ll be thinking about you.” Luke gasped. Edwin asking for it that way was unbearably hot. He’d never been this aroused, this fast. “Turn around and drop your pants, then, Edwin, because I’m going to give you everything you want. Hard and fast.

I will make you feel it for days.” He stepped back, unfastening his pants.

“Spread those legs for me.” He hoped Edwin had brought some oil.

Edwin whimpered and wriggled around, facing the desk. He unbuckled his belt and let his trousers fall. He reached into his coat pocket
